The Allstate Foundation and Campus Compact are proud to announce a new partnership and initiative with the launch of The Allstate Foundation Youth Action Board (YAB), funded by The Allstate Foundation and hosted by Campus Compact.

The YAB is one of the nation’s most exciting opportunities that directly empowers youth ages 18 – 22 to serve communities nationally and mobilize their peers to serve. The 30-member board will be responsible for helping The Allstate Foundation advance its strategy for empowering youth to serve and improve communities across the country. The board will achieve this mission by developing and participating in youth-led service initiatives, planning and launching national youth engagement efforts (including summits and days of service), advising The Allstate Foundation and its partners on pressing youth issues, and more.

Board Members are selected through a competitive application process, and all applications are read and reviewed by an internal review team made up of staff members from both The Allstate Foundation and Campus Compact.

Why do you want to join The Allstate Foundation Youth Action Board?

Youth Action Board Members will work cohesively on a team. Please describe the role you play best in a team setting and give an example of how that role benefited a successful team project of which you were a part.

What four adjectives or characteristics do you believe best describe yourself and why?

What do you believe are the 1-2 most pressing issues in your local community, your country, or the world? What experiences have you been a part of that demonstrate your leadership in, and commitment to, addressing those issues? (if you have not been engaged in service and other leadership activities, why not?)

This Youth Action Board commitment will require in-person meetings, independent work in between sessions, check-in meetings with Campus Compact staff and partners, and some in-person travel. Please describe your capacity for such a commitment over the next year and how you balance your time commitments.

Agreement and Personal Commitment

I have read the requirements of The Allstate Foundation Youth Action Board for which I am applying and understand the time and work commitments involved. If selected for The Allstate Foundation Youth Action Board, I will attend all in-person Youth Action Board meetings and make myself available for the necessary work between meetings. I commit to representing The Allstate Foundation Youth Action Board with the highest degree of integrity and professionalism, including how I act at all in-person functions, in virtual group settings, and on social media when acting in a Youth Action Board capacity.

I understand that if chosen as a member of The Allstate Foundation Youth Action Board, I will later be required to sign and submit liability and emergency medical care joint waiver forms for The Allstate Foundation and Campus Compact before starting my term of service.

I also understand that failure to meet the attendance and participation guidelines will disqualify me from receiving the educational scholarship award and will forfeit my position on the Youth Action Board.
